Parents and Grandparents

When in doubt at a family function, pull out the silly faces!

If mom and dad get boring on you with those canned smiles, just slip on down and look for a grandparent to hang with.

Grandma Iris is always good for a cozy lap and a good book!

Grandmama and Aunt Jean, however, will try to steal your hard-earned quarters.

Grandpa Jim shines a smile while surreptitiously hiding something behind his back- could it be my missing black licorice jelly beans?????

Aaaaahhhhh.... Grandma Karen has enough hands to hold me and my basket so I can almost take a snooze- what an exciting and exhausting day!

Dyeing for Easter

The Sanchini girls had lots of fun dying Easter eggs (and their hands!). We had a few casualties and a few sacrifices to the snack gods, but a good time was had by all!

The Fairy Chef, Her Hungry Little Sister, and Their Very Special Daddy

The Fairy Chef agreed to make a special appearance at our house a while ago...

She was alarmed when she found the Little Fairy Sister so ravenous she almost consumed her favorite airy fairy skirt!



Unsatisfied by the sheer garment, Little Sister Fairy turns her curls to search out a more satisfying smackerel...



She eyes the toy bins, but can't make up her mind where to start.

They Fairy Chef recommends a rainbow ribbon snack, and Little Sister Fairy considers it an amusing choice.

They head together to the table, but decide to get started on their Valentines rather than continue the hunt for a fairy snack. Fairies are very loving creatures, you know, and they love making Valentines.



Sequoia's first Valentine was for Daddy.





Someday I promise I'll learn how to take videos in the correct orientation! For now, please bear with me!

2 Little Curly Q's!

Both Sanchini girls have such beautiful little curls! Not sure where they came from or how long they'll last, but we're learning how to handle curly hair!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

It was a cold, cold winter night, but the Sanchini girls donned their winter best and rode in style!






This house on Cielo Ct. in Rohnert Park is fantastic and well worth a yearly trip to gawk!


Sequoia found that guiding a sleigh is surprisingly hard work!





Try as she might, little Sparrow could not measure up as an elf recruit.


Bubbles make everything more magical!





Smiles all around for a fun family outing!

Christmas Morning 2009

Sparrow had no problem learning how to tear into her presents!




Nothing like warm fleece jammies and a new DVD on Christmas morning. Santa must have known we were ready to move on from letter sounds to constructing words!


More fun stuff!


Hmmmm... this thing required a tutorial from daddy!


Tia got to be here to see the suprise and joy when the munchkins came down the stairs to see the stocking full to the brim and presents under the tree!


All the toys and treats, and Sparrow's favorite gift was a tube of toothpaste!



After all of the excitement, Sparrow went for a little bounce for some R & R.


Sequoia, on the other hand, took advantage of special Christmas rules and decided to get sugared up!

Holiday Sing-along, Ring-a-long

Grandma Karen and Sequoia are giddy at the thought of Sequoia's first holiday sing-along!

Sequoia didn't sing a single word, but she rang those bells like crazy! And then she tried to tie them to her wrist...



Her mama was so proud!

Beautiful Sparrow

This picture is just too beautiful not to share. At a recent playdate my friend Becky (a talented photographer) captured little Miss Sparrow to a "T." This was just minutes before she raided the brownie tray and became a gooey mess!

Christmas Photo Shoots

In search of the perfect Christmas card picture, the poor Sanchini sisters were subjected to multiple holiday outfits and scenes. Still... they could never quite coordinate into the vision of Christmas cheer we were searching for.


Sparrow took to the Santa hat immediately, but thought her tree was a bit on the small side.

Sequoia found a tree that was more her size, but still wouldn't shoot a smile at the camera.


I had 30 seconds to take this shot....


What better location for a holiday shoot that mom's new wishing well? what fun!


Who wants to smile pretty for the camera when we could be yelling and screaming?


Nothing like a guest appearance from the Christmas duck!
